Crush of the Week: Harold Green

Confession: I have always loved poetry, but there is something about spoken word that I never really understood. Maybe I was being too old and print-obsessed to get the beauty of performance art—all that has changed thanks to one man.

Harold Green is a spoken word artist out of Chicago. There is something so unique about Green, and his amazing beard, that his words can turn a confused soul like myself into an enthusiast. In addition to being a spoken word artist, Green is also a playwright, actor and motivational speaker, according to his website. His talents have led him to gigs that include opening up for T.I. and Bobby Valentino. He was also featured on BJ the Chicago Kid’s Pineapple Now-Laters.

Check out some of Green’s work and be prepared to fall in love.
